Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, also known as The Penguin, attempts to take over crime in Gotham. From melting makeup to filming in cold temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they got into character during the production of « The Penguin. » Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke in The Batman (2022), but he didn’t succeed. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional smoker who prefers cigars.

So the first episode is done and it was great

I’ve never seen Farrell so involved with a character

I mean, yes, he’s wearing a thick suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, voice and everything makes you immerse yourself in the character and see only the penguin. He’s no relation to any of the other penguins on live TV, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor.

Penguin is an intermediary in a mafia organization

He’s a mobster from New York, a smart guy. It’s a Scorsese gangster, but without the flowery language. The plot is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin on CW’s Gotham.

Very entertaining and highly recommended

So far, he’s served his time, slowly moved into the mob, and then when the Riddler blows up the town’s boardwalk and his boss dies in said movie, he sees an opportunity to move up in the world. Now begins the game of fraud, double fraud and I guess triple fraud.
