As a huge fan of the original, I’m sorry to say that the long-awaited sequel is a dull, fragmented mess.

It’s fun to see Michael Keaton reprise one of his most famous roles

There are too many storylines going on in this movie, and not all of them are interesting enough to keep us interested. He puts that striped suit back on like he hasn’t missed a beat. But the movie doesn’t really come to life (or become undead?) until the last third of the film.

By then, it’s too late

That’s when the pace picks up and the laughs start flying. The original Beetlejuice was perfect. The sequel is a good example of why people say perfection is something you shouldn’t mess with.
