Tale
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, and thanks to her exceptional mind, she is able to help solve a crime when she reconstructs evidence during her shift as a janitor at the police department. Despite her very high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of the arcane, Morgan commits a series of fundamental blunders in law that no one has ever done before. I watched a TV legal show that said no. In the first episode, for example, she retrieves a document from a locked safe in the suspect’s law office – the victim’s office – evidence that would never be admissible in court – evidence obtained illegally.
Admissible in court
Nor could it be used to obtain other evidence – « the fruit of the poisonous tree »; Violation of the legal principle of In episode #2, she has to be reminded to wear gloves before handling evidence at a crime scene, and in #3, she removes all the documentary evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and further destroying everything she removed. HPI Reprint (2021). At first I thought this was going to be a comedy like Psych! Or a silly comedy like Always Sunny.
And they’re fraternal twins, The Mentalist
I mean, the only characters I’ve seen Kaitlin Olson play are crazy women with a sense of humor. If that’s what you like about her, don’t worry, she definitely brings both qualities to this role. But she somehow does it in a mature way. The first episode I’ve seen so far, but it seems to be the same series as the aforementioned Psych!
The first episode was enjoyable and I hope the show continues
Olsen plays a character with a very high IQ who suffers from a type of OCD where she obsesses over unnecessary things. She also has a keen sense of observation and uses that intelligence to help the local police solve crimes. This is not a dramatic detective show, but it is not a comedy played for laughs either. It is a light action crime show like ABC’s The Rookie and it really gives me vibes from FX’s brilliant early 2000s series Rescue Me.
